What can I help you with?
OVERVIEW
Do background noises drive you nuts as if you 'filter' broken? Does everything come in violently? Is light too bright, movement too fast and sound too loud?
As a result, your brain can't and won't tolerate those stimuli anymore. It puts you under stress and activates your fight/flight/starve response. You literally want to run away or become angry and irritated. It exhausts you, you can't think of words, you react in a confused way and sometimes it makes you literally nauseous.
Very recognizable for someone with a overstimulated brain. Something that people with a healthy brain often have trouble imagining. It is not gone with a moment's rest, it is constantly and always there !
You got it from a concussion/Post Commotional Syndrome (PCS), Non-congenital Brain Injury (NAH) or Lung/Post-Covid, for example. But it may also have always been there due to a neurodiverse brain, such as autism (ASD), AD(h)D or you are a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP). And of course, even people without these characteristics will be able to recognize this when they are in a stressful period in their lives.
My specialty is...
I don't teach you how to deal with the stimuli or how to accept them. I teach you how to turn off the triggers for the overstimulation in your brain!
The overstimulated feeling is actually a stress reaction to something that triggers you. Often these are sensory stimuli, such as light or sound. However, this overstimulation also stresses you out. As a result, even before you enter a stimulus-rich situation, you often become stressed. And if you are already overstimulated, you become extra stressed because it has happened again.
And there you have it: the famous 'vicious circle'...
By taking the stress off and turning off the triggers, you can break this circle and calm your stress system. And at that point, new neuroconnections are made and you can start strengthening them without stress, allowing you to start tolerating stimuli better and better again.
How to reset your brain, I teach you with the method of Live The Connection®. Curious? Then read on at www.Brein-Reset.nl Because then I can explain to you how it works!
This method has already helped many people, with various problems, to better cope with their symptoms, reduce the symptoms or even resolve them.
About myself...
I am a concussion experience specialist (PCS). Recovery from my 3rd concussion took over 3.5 years. During that time, my brain was constantly overstimulated and my stress system was constantly on "alarm" mode. Because of this there were a lot of triggers programmed into my brain, causing my brain to maintain the concussion. By now I have really recovered! I celebrate carnivals again, go to festivals and go to amusement parks with my family.
After my full recovery, I specialized in people with an "overstimulated brain" to be able to properly help this sometimes so forgotten and not always recognized group of people with their overstimulated brain. This is where everything comes together for me: my knowledge, my experience, my education, but especially my passion and meaning!
I am both an Ontstress Teacher and a Coach at Live The Connection.
On my website at the page My Offer - Brain Reset I offer the de-stressing workshop. I teach these both online and in person.
