I sat at the table and listened to the sounds. The children were smacking vigorously, laughing and talking with full mouths. And I kept watching and was enjoying with wonder.
How do you feel when you get this image in front of your eyes?
For someone who suffered from "misophonia" for 40 years, this view is a nightmare.
I went crazy every time I sat at the table with my family. Every day, that is. Going out to restaurants or participating in social events was a torture. In time, I began to refuse to sit at the table with others. All the mouth sounds of food chewing, swallowing could bring me to the top of me annoyance. i couldn't help but yell at everyone at home.
And then, coincidentally, I was in the Core Module. I had promised myself that everything there was to learn in the course was welcome. I had no expectations.
I found the first day interesting. I immediately applied the technique at home. Strangely enough ... my children turned out to be calmer.
The second day I sat at the table and listened to the sounds. The children were smacking heavily, laughing and talking with full mouths. And I kept watching and was enjoying with wonder.
The third day I had the impression that my whole posture changed: I stood taller, tighter with lower shoulders and such a shiny smile!
It was the first time in my life I could say I enjoy my food. I heard everything, I saw everything and the annoyance was not there. What a relief and what a gift I had been given!
Thanks to Marina and The Love Method, I have gotten my life back. You don't realize how important social eating is until it is given back to you!
